Today we talked about how the heart and lungs work together to deliver oxygen to our bodies. We used this flow map to demonstrate it. See if your child can explain to you how this process works!

Addition with Regrouping
This week we started working on adding 2 digit numbers with regrouping! This is a very hard skill for 2nd graders, but we are learning it quite quickly! Today we practiced regrouping tens using beans and cups! Then we made a flip book with the steps to working out the problems for us to use later as we practice more. Friday, November 13, 2009
Lots O' Ladybugs!
We recently studied animal characteristics and part of that study was learning about the life cycle of different animals. Our classes have spent the last couple of weeks watching first hand how a ladybug goes through its life cycle. We learned that a ladybug has four stages:
Egg
Larvae
Pupa
Adult
We watched our ladybugs as they went through these four stages of life. Today we were able to take a closer look at our new adult ladybugs and find places on our playground for them to find aphids to eat! The students had a great time getting to know these fascinating animals.
